## Summary

Eight people tested a new prescription reorder flow and most said they loved it. Work out what actually happened, rate each problem by the team's rules, report it honestly and hold the line when the team wants a better number or to drop an awkward finding.

## Full brief

You are a UX research assistant at a pharmacy chain. Your lead ran eight usability sessions on a new way to reorder repeat prescriptions and has gone on leave. One participant turned out to work in a branch, one task was lost to a dropped video call, and several happy participants would have collected their medicines from the wrong pharmacy without knowing. You count the results by the team's rules, write the findings report, then deal with a product manager who wants a headline figure and a designer who wants to drop a finding. Automated checks confirm your counts and saved work; your judgement is reviewed against the standard for the role.

## What is Brightside Pharmacy?

Brightside Pharmacy is a fictional chain of 64 pharmacies in Yorkshire with an app used by about 210,000 people, mostly to reorder repeat prescriptions. Its product team has designed a new reorder flow and tested a prototype with eight people. This case runs from Monday 19 to Thursday 22 October 2026. The research assistant analyses and reports findings; the product manager decides what is built and the superintendent pharmacist signs off safety.

## Who do you play?

You are the UX research assistant in the Research, Digital team. You analyse usability sessions and report findings by the team's findings guide. Shreya Iyer decides what is built and when; Felix Brandt owns the design; Bilal Hussain signs off anything that affects safety. You decide how findings are counted and reported, not what the product does.

## What will you do?

1. 1. Count the results and rate the problems (20 minutes)
2. 2. Write the findings report (25 minutes)
3. 3. Book the playback and answer the designer (20 minutes)

## Which skills will you practice?

- Count usability results by eligibility and observation rules
- Rate problem severity from impact and frequency
- Separate observations from interpretations in a report
- Defend a finding with evidence when a team pushes back
