Skill Paths, page 4
Short series of lessons and simulations that build one skill set. Finish every module to earn a credential.
- Operations Under Disruption
Keep services running when plans fall apart. Recover an airline schedule, restore bin rounds after a breakdown and fill an empty shift on a busy Monday.
- People and HR Foundations
Practise fair and careful people work. Shortlist candidates for a supervisor job, handle an absence review with a health condition and check overtime before payroll runs.
- People Development and Training
Plan how people learn and grow at work. Set a quarterly training budget, handle an absence review fairly and shortlist candidates against clear criteria.
- Product and Technology Decisions
Make product decisions from evidence. Turn user research sessions into findings, review an outage that hurt customers and decide whether a release is ready.
- Public Service Delivery
Practise the work of councils, schools and public bodies. Recover missed bin rounds, cover staff absences before the school day and handle a procurement decision with a late conflict declaration.
- Purpose, Impact and Reporting
Work on reporting that has to be right. Prepare a charity's Gift Aid claim, count a company's electricity emissions and respond to an environmental test result.
- Risk and Compliance in Practice
Work through the decisions compliance teams face every week. Answer a data access request with care, judge a vendor risk exception, respond to a pollution result in time and handle a procurement conflict of interest.
- Running a Small Business
Learn the decisions small business owners face. Find runway, fix food costs, find good leads and ask the bank for a loan.
- Running Reliable Technology
Learn how technology teams keep services running. Sort a Monday helpdesk queue, review a checkout outage and make the go or no-go call on a software release.
- Serving the Public Under Pressure
Learn to help people well when things have gone wrong. Answer a support queue, find a guest a room on a sold-out night, deal with missing stock in a shop and sort out missed bin collections for residents.
- Software Engineering in Practice
Practise the daily judgement of software teams. Review a code change, follow up a checkout outage and decide whether a release can ship.
- Staffing and Rotas
Practise putting the right people in the right place. Cover a short nurse rota, cover teacher absences and fill an empty café shift within the hours rules.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Skill Path?
A Skill Path is a short course built around real work. Each module has two or three short lessons, then a simulation where you do the job in a fictional company. Your work in each simulation is graded against a rubric.
How long does a Skill Path take?
Most Skill Paths take three to five hours in total. You can stop at any point and pick up where you left off. There are no deadlines.
What do I get when I finish?
When every simulation in the path is complete and graded, you earn a FinderK credential. It lists the work you did and the skills it shows. You can keep it private or share a link to it, for example on LinkedIn.
How much does a Skill Path cost?
Some Skill Paths are included with FinderK Plus, which has a free trial. Others are sold once at a fixed price and stay yours. You can read the first module's lessons for free before you decide.
Do I need experience?
No. Each path states its level. Beginner paths assume no previous experience in the role, and the lessons explain the ideas you need before each simulation.
